The AYO Endangered Instrument Scholarship provides the recipient with the loan of a quality instrument free-of-charge and with a substantial subsidy for private tuition over a period of 12 months. The program is designed to encourage students to study instruments being sought after by orchestras. Learning an orchestral endangered instrument gives student increased opportunities and greater possibilities for advancement since these instruments are in such demand. The recipient will be required to become a member of the Armidale Youth Orchestras. The instrument will be provided free of charge by the New England Conservatorium of Music, and a subsidy of up to $500 p.a. for music tuition is provided by AYO.
